HISTORY OF BARANGAY CANGHUNOGHUNOG
Barangay Canghunoghunog got its name from the legend that long time ago, the natives of this barangay used a certain river south of Canghunoghunog as a bathing center since the water had come cure on common illnesses.
The spring was nice to see because of the flowing clear water the people who are bathing then used “KABO- KABO” for bathing and while they bath faster they shout “TUBO-TUBO” especially to their children they bring for bathing. The people use to take the water as bathing had also been cure of their common illnesses believing that the illness will washed away with its flowing.
The flowing of the water continues to flow and the intensity of the water and the sound is “GADAHUNOG” that means the force of the water. That’s why the natives called the place “CANGHUNOGHUNOG” until now.
